Our English Training Program features:

  • Business Writing Expertise

Good writing contributes to great communication. It never goes out of style, and the need for clear, effective writing is just as important to the success of your business today as it ever was.

By gaining confidence in producing written materials, students can develop the right attitude toward writing, and learn to avoid common mechanical problems that occur in daily business writing. We do not recommend spoon-feed teaching such as memorizing sentence structure. Instead, after students have acquired basic language knowledge, they explore writing techniques further through a series of interactive learning activities.

  • Effective Meeting Skills

Meetings are an essential part of every business, and yet ineffective meetings are one of the biggest timewasters within organizations.Common complaints refer to meetings that are overly long, poorly planned, or poorly run. Such meetings waste hours of time that could be used more effectively. From better agendas to the key skills of a meeting leader, we provide all the essential skills and techniques needed for running effective meetings.

  • Negotiation Skills

Negotiation builds on common interests and reduces differences to secure an agreement that all parties involved can accept. However, many people are committed to their individual style and convinced that theirs is the obvious and most sensible approach. This negotiation style can unwittingly create conflict.

Awareness of one’s problem-solving preference empowers self-management when interacting with other people at work. We build negotiation skills in students by taking them through the whole process hands-on. Such practice is widely used by leading business schools for programs in leadership development and conflict resolution.

  • Impromptu Speaking

First impressions, and even final decisions, are often made based on impromptu conversations in meetings and conferences. You can learn to become a compelling extemporaneous speaker. If you are frequently or even occasionally called on for impromptu remarks, the exercises necessary to develop the skill are worth the effort.

With intensive practice, you can improve oral expression of thought, think quickly on your feet and enhance your sense of humor in breaking ice with an audience. This session does not focus on the development of one skill but rather on a general development of socializing and persuasion skills.

  • Small Talks

Small talk is a casual form of conversation that fills an awkward silence between people. Even though you may feel shy using your second language, it is sometimes considered rude to say nothing. Just as there are certain times when small talk is appropriate, there are also certain topics that people often discuss during these moments.

Look into the Who, What, Where, When, Why to gain a better understanding of small talk. We will learn about mingling tips including icebreakers, conversation starters and rapport building skills to overcome communication barriers. Stop running away from networking events and turn every conversation into an opportunity for success!

  • Assertiveness

Assertiveness involves being clear about what you feel, what you need and how it can be achieved, being neither passive nor aggressive. This requires confident, open body language and the ability to communicate calmly without attacking another person. Clear communication is an important part of assertiveness.

Using role-play , you will practice being assertive in certain business situations, such as giving constructive criticism to a colleague, or refusing to take on extra work. By looking carefully at how you communicate with others, you can begin to assert yourself, helping to improve the quality of life.

  • Speech and Presentation

Designed with a focus on verbal communication in an everyday work environment, this objective emphasizes practice in vocabulary building and basic grammar for sentence construction. We aim to provide exposure to practical and useful English or Mandarin so that learners can immediately begin to communicate with people they meet at the workplace. We will also highlight the use of appropriate gestures and body language to facilitate conversations.
