The Professional Diploma in Business at Business at Kaplan Business & Accountancy School (KBAS) provides you with fundamental knowledge across a wide range of business disciplines. It is delivered in an efficient and flexible timescale and is a beneficial stand-alone diploma or can act as a gateway to further academic endeavour. 

Our Professional Diploma in Business blends theory with practical training. Students will apply appropriate academic theories and concepts to a range of business issues. During the course, you have the opportunity to add value to both your employer and yourself on a daily basis.  In addition to explaining the broad economic, social, regulatory and ethical environments in which businesses operate within our global economy, the programme is designed to provide students with the widest range of career opportunities upon completion of the programme.

PDB graduates can also articulate to the BA (Hons) Business Administration (Top-up) of Birmingham City University (BCU) or BA (Hons) Accounting of University of Bedfordshire upon completion.^

Programme Details

This programme is suitable for those students who want to work and also engage for further studying at a non-local bachelor degree programme with us after finishing this programme. 

This programme consists of 8 modules. 

Programme structure
Term 1 Introduction to Management Accounting for Managers
Term 2 Quantitative Analysis Economics I
Term 3 Issues in International Business Personnel Management
Term 4 Project Management Marketing Principles

Can be completed in 12 months

Medium of Instruction

Teaching Mode

  • Face-to-face tuition in Hong Kong conducted by experienced lecturers and class schedule designed for part-time students
  • There are 4 terms a year and students should study for 2 modules per term
  • There are 42 lecture hours per module

Assessment Method
The assessment tasks involve a combination of assignments, examination and other exercises set in accordance with each module’s learning outcomes

Entry Requirement
Must fulfil any of the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) / Senior Secondary 3, or
  • Successful completion of Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Form 5 with at least two years of work experience, or
  • Graduate of new Project Yi Jin, or
  • Completion a Pre-Associate Degree programme, or
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the School

Tuition Fee
HK$37,500 (12 instalments)  


After completion of the programme, students can articulate to University College Dublin, BBS (Hons) Year 2 programme in Hong Kong.
