The Professional Diploma in Business at Business at Kaplan Business & Accountancy School (KBAS) provides you with fundamental knowledge across a wide range of business disciplines. It is delivered in an efficient and flexible timescale and is a beneficial stand-alone diploma or can act as a gateway to further academic endeavour. 


Our Professional Diploma in Business blends theory with practical training. Students will apply appropriate academic theories and concepts to a range of business issues. During the course, you have the opportunity to add value to both your employer and yourself on a daily basis.  In addition to explaining the broad economic, social, regulatory and ethical environments in which businesses operate within our global economy, the programme is designed to provide students with the widest range of career opportunities upon completion of the programme.


PDB graduates can also articulate to the Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) Year 2 programme of University College Dublin (UCD) upon completion. UCD has a very strong international standing and its business school is triple accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. The university is also currently ranked within the TOP 1% of institutions worldwide in the Times Higher Education rankings.

This programme is suitable for those students who want to work and also engage for further studying at a non-local bachelor degree programme with us after finishing this programme. 


This programme consists of 8 modules.

Term 4 Project Management Marketing Principles

Teaching Mode

  • Face-to-face tuition in Hong Kong conducted by experienced lecturers and class schedule designed for part-time students
  • There are 4 terms a year and students should study for 2 modules per term
  • There are 42 lecture hours per module


Assessment Method
The assessment tasks involve a combination of assignments, examination and other exercises set in accordance with each module’s learning outcomes

Entry Requirement
Must fulfil any of the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) / Senior Secondary 3, or
  • Successful completion of Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Form 5 with at least two years of work experience, or
  • Graduate of new Project Yi Jin, or
  • Completion a Pre-Associate Degree programme, or
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the School

Articulation pathway

Local Study

  • Articulation offered by Kaplan, Top-up degree programmes studied in Hong Kong*
  • Kaplan Higher Education jointly offers top-up degree programmes with internationally-renowned universities in Europe. Our KBAS PDB graduates are accepted with credit exemption or credit transfer to join the overseas full-time top-up degree programmes provided by Kaplan Higher Education
  • Articulate to University College Dublin, BBS (Hons) Year 2 programme in Hong Kong upon completion (can be completed in 1.5 years), where 90% of students joined the workforce in 3 months after graduation


Overseas Study

  • Direct entry to Year 2 or 3 with credit exemptions for KBAS PDB graduates
  • Articulation arrangements with overseas institutions have been established for KBAS PDB graduates to articulate to bachelor's degree programmes in business-related disciplines
  • Articulate to Kaplan Business School, Australia to enter the Bachelor’s degree in Australia (can be completed in 2 years), where graduates can apply for 2 years working visa in Australia^

University

After completion of the programme, student can articulate to University College Dublin, BBS (Hons) Year 2 programme in Hong Kong.
